Inactive/Suspended Members

Inactive and suspended Members of the College cannot practice dental technology.

Inactive Members

Members of the College who hold an Inactive Certificate of Registration can use the restricted titles dental technologist, Registered Dental Technologist, or the designation RDT in Ontario. However, it is a condition of an Inactive Certificate of Registration that a Member cannot practice dental technology.

If you would like to practice dental technology, see Registration and Member Updates on how to transfer your class of registration.

Suspended Members

Members who have been suspended for administrative reasons (failure to pay fees, etc.) or as a result of a Discipline finding, may not practice dental technology or use the restricted titles dental technologist, Registered Dental Technologist, or the designation RDT in Ontario.

In order to be reinstated, contact the College at 416-438-5003 or info@cdto.ca.

Supervising Inactive and Suspended Members

If you are a member of the College who supervises an inactive or suspended Member practicing dental technology, this may also be an act of professional misconduct. The College will prosecute anyone who knows or should know that they are supervising the work of a Member who should not be practicing dental technology.
