Equity, Diversity and Inclusion

The College of Dental Technologists is located on the original land of Wendat, Anishinaabe, and Haudenosaunee peoples, and on the homeland of the Mississauga Credit River First Nation.
We recognize and honour Treaty 13 and commit to fostering meaningful relationships with Indigenous communities whose ancestors have lived here for generations.

Advancing Equity and Anti-Discrimination

The College of Dental Technologists of Ontario is dedicated to protecting the public interest by actively fostering equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) within our organization and through the regulation of registered Dental Technologists practicing in Ontario. We are actively committed to uphold the importance of addressing discrimination and systemic barriers, including anti-racism, gender bias, rights of 2SLGBTQIA+ communities, and discrimination faced by other equity-deserving and equity-seeking groups.

Building Trust and Collaboration

Recognizing that addressing the existence of discrimination and racism is a shared responsibility, our College is working to create strong relationships built on trust, respect and inclusion, as we start building a foundation for change. We understand that progress requires collaboration and collective action. As such, we continue to engage with various champions in EDI such as system partners and advocacy organizations, to advance our commitment to EDI.

A Call to Action

We invite all our registrants and the public to join our efforts to cultivate an environment that values and celebrates diversity, respects the rights of every individual, and ensures that all voices are heard and represented. We believe that we can and must do more to expand and enhance all initiatives to develop the most welcoming, accessible, respectful and engaging environment/space for all individuals.
