Provincial masking requirements for the public are being extended in select higher-risk settings until 12:00 a.m. on June 11, 2022. This includes health-care settings, such as dental laboratories and dental offices. RDTs are expected to continue to follow the requirements outlined in the College’s COVID-19 guidance document including the following patient care areas:
- When providing direct patient care or working in patient care areas, PPE that is appropriate for the anticipated procedure or activity should always be worn.
- Patients and essential visitors are required to wear a face-covering (e.g., a procedural/surgical mask, cloth covering, other appropriate face covering) prior to entering the workplace.
- Patients and essential visitors who arrive without a face covering must be provided one or be required to schedule a new appointment.
In addition, the Chief Medical Officer of Health will maintain the CMOH Directives currently in effect until June 11, 2022. RDTs are reminded to continue to follow requirements based on Directive #1, as well as COVID-19 Guidance for RDTs and Infection Prevention and Control Standard.
