As a member of The Health Profession Regulators of Ontario (HPRO) the College is proud to announce that the Government of Canada has partnered with HPRO to advance equity and anti-racism in health profession regulation. HPRO was approved for an $88,000 grant from the Government of Canada’s Community Support, Multiculturalism, and Anti-Racism Initiatives Program.
For HPRO and its members this grant will work towards supporting the three areas:
- An equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) framework and strategy to support sustainable
current and future (EDI) initiatives and structural change in regulation; - An EDI self-assessment checklist and reporting tool;and
- The development of an EDI toolkit, including internal training components for colleges.
This work will reach hundreds of college staff, Board and committee members, and ultimately, over 400,000 regulated health professionals and their patients/clients. The outcomes of this project will be share with other provinces and territories as HPRO continues to support and encourage their health profession regulators on their EDI journeys.
The College would like to thank the HPRO and the Federal Government for their continued commitment to equity and anti-racism initiatives. You can learn more HPRO and the work they are doing here .
