Effective Saturday, December 26, 2020 at 12:01am, Ontario will begin a province-wide lockdown. Toronto and the 26 other public health units in southern Ontario will stay locked down until at least January 23, 2021, while the northern parts of the province will face the same restrictions until January 9, 2021. These measures are necessary to contain the spread of the virus from areas with a high number of cases to areas with fewer cases, and to preserve capacity in Ontario’s health-care system.
The lockdown does not impact the provision of health care services. Registered Dental Technologists (RDTs) can continue to practice safely at this time and are reminded to follow the guidelines detailed in the Return to Practice Guidance for RDTs.
On the advice of the Chief Medical Officer of Health, we are also reminding you that this year it is imperative that the holidays be spent at home with members of your immediate household. We support the government’s effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and encourage Members to follow the protocols set out by the Ministry of Health.

The College will be closed from December 24, 2020 at 12:00pm and will re-open January 4, 2021 at 9:00am, however we will keep a watchful eye on the situation and will communicate critical information to RDTs.
