How to be become a licensed Dental Technologist in Ontario
To practice in the province of Ontario as a dental technologist, you must be registered with the College of Dental Technologists of Ontario (CDTO). The College’s application process is designed to ensure a fair and transparent assessment of the qualifications and competency of all applicants.

Knowledge Based Assessment (KBA)
June 26, 2026 – Registration is now closed.
November 20, 2026 (Tentative) – Registration is open.
Performance Based Assessment (PBA)
Ontario PBA:
October 24, 2026 – Registration is open.
October 25, 2026 (Tentative) – Registration is not open.
