COVID-19 Update
The Ontario government, in consultation with the Chief Medical Officer of Health and other health experts, is imposing a provincewide emergency brake as a result of an alarming surge in case numbers and COVID-19 hospitalizations across the province. The provincewide emergency brake will be effective Saturday, April 3, 2021, at 12:01 a.m. and the government intends to keep this in place for at least four weeks.
The provincewide shutdown does not impact the provision of health care. However, to support the shutdown, Registered Dental Technologists (RDTs) should use their professional judgment and coordinate with associated practitioners (e.g., dentists, denturists) to consider deferring non-essential cases (when possible) in order to reduce mobility and the number of daily contacts with people outside your immediate household.
RDTs are reminded to follow enhanced precautions outlined in the Return to Practice Guidance for RDTs and Infection Prevention and Control.
Data shows severity indicators and daily cases are back on the rise as variants of the virus continue to spread in Ontario. The College reminds all RDTs not to gather over approaching spring holidays.
Office Closure
