For Examination Candidates, Dental Technology Students and Educators

April 6, 2020

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the threat of community spread, the College of Dental Technologists (CDTO) has postponed the 2020 Written Theory and Practical Examinations and the Application deadlines indefinitely.

Effective immediately the CDTO Online Application Portal has been closed. Applications received will be processed according to the 2020 guidelines as soon as normal business operations resume.

What’s New for 2020 Licensure Examinations?

Applicants who have never challenged the CDTO licensure exams will have the opportunity to challenge the new national Dental Technology Entry-to-Practice Assessment (DTETPA). The DTETPA is comprised of a Knowledge-Based assessment and a Performance-Based assessment (See below for more information). A live webinar will be held this month to bring you more information on the assessment formats. The webinar will be recorded and posted on the CDTO and CADTR websites for you to watch at your convenience.

Details on fees, application deadlines and scheduling will be provided as soon as COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.

Candidates Repeating CDTO Licensure Examinations

The CDTO will notify all Repeat Examination Candidates once the applicant portal has been re-opened.

Please contact Paola Bona at pbona@cdto.ca if you have any questions.
