Please note that the college will be closed on Wednesday, July 1, in observance of Canada Day. We will resume regular business hours on Thursday, July 2.
As we mark Canada Day, CDTO recognizes that this is also a time for reflection, learning, and continued commitment to Truth and Reconciliation.
CDTO acknowledges the original lands of the Wendat, Anishinaabe, and Haudenosaunee Peoples, and the homeland of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. We recognize and honour Treaty 13 and remain committed to fostering respectful and meaningful relationships with Indigenous communities.
As a health regulator, CDTO’s public protection mandate is grounded in accountability, fairness, and trust. Reconciliation requires ongoing learning, humility, and action, including understanding the lasting impacts of colonization and residential schools, addressing systemic racism, and supporting culturally safe and equitable care.
We encourage registrants, system partners, and members of the public to continue learning through the following resources:
- CDTO’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion page
- CDTO’s Truth and Reconciliation page
- CDTO’s EDI Resources page
- National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation: Calls to Action
- Government of Canada: National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
- National Collaborating Centre for Indigenous Health: Cultural Safety Collection
- Indigenous Services Canada: Anti-Indigenous Racism Resources for Health Professionals
Reconciliation is an ongoing responsibility. We encourage everyone to take time to listen, learn, reflect, and consider how they can contribute to respectful, culturally safe, and equitable regulation, care, and public protection.
CDTO wishes everyone a safe and reflective Canada Day.
