The government of Ontario has issued a stay-at-home order, effective January 14 at 12:01am, and has immediately declared a second state of emergency. The new order will be in effect for at least 28 days and will require everyone to remain at home, with exception of essential purposes including accessing health-care services, going to the grocery store and exercising. The stay-at-home order does not impact the provision of health care. However, to support the order, Registered Dental Technologists (RDTs) should use their professional judgment and coordinate with associated practitioners (e.g., dentists, denturists) to consider deferring non-essential cases (when possible) in order to reduce mobility and the number of daily contacts with people outside your immediate household.
We are actively communicating with the Ministry of Health and other health colleges and are committed to keeping you updated as more information becomes available.
