Approved Program Route

 

If you are an applicant who is nearing completion or has successfully completed a Dental Technology Program approved by CADTR you would fall under the Approved Program Route .

Step One- Credentialing and Competency Assessment

Complete successfully Credentialing and Assessment with the Canadian Alliance of Dental Technology Regulators(CADTR).

It is important to note that If you graduated more than 24 months prior to the date of your application, you must provide evidence of 1300 experiential hours in dental technology practice gained three years before the date of application. Check the Experiential Hours Form or Credentialing Application Guide for more information.

When you are ready to apply you can do so through the Applicant Portal.

Step Two – Prepare to Register with the College

If you have any questions about applying to the College, please contact the Registration team at info@cdto.ca or (416) 438-5003.

Step Three – Apply to register with CDTO for General Certificate of Registration

Once you have submitted your online application the College will review your application for completeness and will notify you of the outcome.

APPROVED

If your application is complete and you meet all of the registration requirements you will receive an email notification to complete the final step: payment of the registration fee.  Once payment is confirmed you will receive email confirmation of registration with the College and your registration number.

It is important to note that before you are legally authorized to practice the profession in Ontario and can use the protected title Registered Dental Technologist or RDT you must obtain Professional Liability Insurance (PLI).

Your wall certificate (General Certificate of Registration) and RDT Stamp will be sent to you by mail/courier.

INCOMPLETE

If your application is incomplete the College will contact you to help resolve any outstanding items, obtain clarification of information provided in your application or request additional documentation

NOT APPROVED

If you do not meet all of the registration requirements the Registrar will refer your application to the Registration Committee for review.  You will be notified in writing of the referral and reasons for referral and be advised of your right to make a written submission within 30 days of receiving notice.  The Panel of the Registration Committee will review your file including submissions received and render Decisions and Reasons, including information on appeals.
