As of August 26th, the Ministry of Health has updated the Signage for Patients and Visitors and COVID-19 Patient Screening Guidance Document to reflect the following changes:
- Screening for fully immunized individuals, including a reordering of the screening questions
- Updated symptoms list
The College’s COVID-19 guidance reflects these changes, particularly under:
- The Patient Screening under Workplace Considerations and,
- signage under Communication.
RDTs are asked to review and action the changes.

Chief Medical Officer of Health – Directive 6
Through the Directive 6, the Ontario government has mandated COVID-19 vaccination policies for “high-risk settings” including public hospitals, community services and long-term care home placement services, home care and community services, or ambulance services effective September 7, 2021.
This Directive applies to RDTS only if they are employed by the aforementioned “high risk settings” at this point. It does not impact the provision of community-based healthcare workers including RDTs practicing in community settings.
The College is closely monitoring all COVID-19 information and directives and will update RDTs on changes that may impact how you practice dental technology.
