The Government of Ontario has released a Framework for Reopening Our Province. The document outlines the principles that will be used to reopen businesses, services and public spaces in gradual stages. While no specific dates have been offered, the framework explains the criteria Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health will use to advise the government of when it is safe to begin loosening restrictions.

We understand that a lack of clarity and a timeline for getting back to normal can be challenging during these times. The College is actively engaged with the Ministry of Health to provide guidance to health care professionals. Additionally, the four Ontario oral health regulators, the College of Dental Technologists, College of Dental Hygienists, College of Denturists and the Royal College of Dental Surgeons are working collaboratively to provide best practice guidelines and standards for our Members, such as Infection Prevention and Control post Covid19. We are also working closely with dental technology regulators across Canada to develop guidelines that will help you to prepare your practices for the safe delivery of care.

The sacrifices you are making today are highly valued and are going a long way to limiting the transmission of COVID-19 and ensuring the health and wellbeing of all Ontarians.

As the situation in Ontario evolves and as the work on easing restrictions progresses, we will share updates as soon as they become available.
